Austek supplied and installed a comprehensive “turn-key” solution for integrated radio communication needs of the many islands comprising the Torres Strait communities.

This involved setting up base stations on key islands which were able to facilitate inter-island voice communications, both directly from individual station to station, as well as across the network created by the linking of the base stations.

The solution was provided by the integration of a network of hand-held radios, radios installed in vehicles and base station masts and antennae. The use of our own helicopter transport was critical to delivering the project in a reasonable time-frame.
